The big news is that the masters cap was hit as of December 24th. I had been predicting since last summer that this 20,000 quota would be hit in the last week of the year and the pace of usage stayed extremely consistent. The general quota has 7,700 visas of 65,000 remaining as of December 31st and the rolling four week average is now running at just over 1500. I've just received an RFE for my I-485. I am feeling incredibly disheartened because I thought I'd done everything right and I am struggling not being able to work or travel... I have a seriously ill family member back home, and my husband and I have an understanding that if anything happens I'm getting on the plane no matter what. I'm just praying I get my AP soon so the "no matter what" doesn't have to mean abandoning our home and life here in the US.

I am applying to renew my EAD and looking at the paper Application on page 7 I see that if you are C9 which all of us are mostly..we need not file an application fee..
Is it true..

If you paid the new fees when you filed last year then you don't have to pay the fees again this time. But if you paid $180 for ead then pay again now.

Hello,
I joined and contributed already to the IV although I am not yet on the GC queue. I support you all with my heart.
I have a different concern about PERM filing. My application will be EB2 with Ms + 4 years as Senior Soft Eng, and my lawyer asked my manager to create the business necessity letter for MS degree. He is not experienced with this kind of paperwork and the lawyer seems to be just not helpful rather demanding... I was wondering if somebody in IV had to deal with this business necessity letter. Any information would be helpful...

Can someone tell me a little bit about visitor visa validity dates. For eg: if my parents got a 3 month visa, is it valid from the date it is issued or from the date of entry into the US?

Hi there,
I am going to apply H4 VISA for my spouse, but we don't have any marriage pictures. and the problem is I am here in USA and she is back home, and i can't go back home because of my project.

1500 H-1Bs were claimed in the last week and just over 20,000 remain for the fiscal year. Based on a four week rolling average (1175), I am projecting the target will be exhausted in 17 weeks which will be February 23, 2011. Previously, I had been projecting March, but the overall usage of H-1Bs has been somewhat busier in the last month than in previous months. I filed for 485 duing July . and i filed for EAD in Nov via e-file. in first week of Nov i got FP notice for 485 and i resheduled it and they gave me a slot in first week of dec acceptable to me. in third week that is on saturday 11/17 i got FP notice for my e-filed EAD a date in last week of Nov which again i cant attend. Now i went to ASC on saturday and i met the supervisor and told her can i do both FP's on same day . She looked at those forms and corrected the Appointment notice of EAD manually to date i want and signed on it. she said that should be OK and no issues for that. She told me multiple time and also gave me forms to be filled to save time on that day . Any issues ?
